1 Alleluia.
O sing to the Lord a new song; ♦︎
sing his praise in the congregation of the faithful.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their maker; ♦︎
let the children of Zion be joyful in their king.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance; ♦︎
let them sing praise to him with timbrel and lyre.
4 For the Lord has pleasure in his people ♦︎
and adorns the poor with salvation.
5 Let the faithful be joyful in glory; ♦︎
let them rejoice in their ranks,
6 With the praises of God in their mouths ♦︎
and a two-edged sword in their hands;
7 To execute vengeance on the nations ♦︎
and punishment on the peoples;
8 To bind their kings in chains ♦︎
and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute on them the judgement decreed: ♦︎
such honour have all his faithful servants.
Alleluia.

11The Lord said to Moses, I will bring one more plague upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go from here; indeed, when he lets you go, he will drive you away. 2Tell the people that every man is to ask his neighbour and every woman is to ask her neighbour for objects of silver and gold. 3The Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, Moses himself was a man of great importance in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaohs officials, and in the sight of the people.
4 Moses said, Thus says the Lord: About midnight I will go out through Egypt. 5Every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the female slave who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the livestock. 6Then there will be a loud cry throughout the whole land of Egypt, such as has never been nor will ever be again. 7But not a dog shall growl at any of the Israelitesnot at people, not at animalsso that you may know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel. 8Then all these officials of yours shall come down to me, and bow low to me, saying, Leave us, you and all the people who follow you. After that I will leave. And in hot anger he left Pharaoh.
9 The Lord said to Moses, Pharaoh will not listen to you, in order that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt. 10Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh; but the Lord hardened Pharaohs heart, and he did not let the people of Israel go out of his land.

29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous, 30and you say, If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets. 31Thus you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of your ancestors. 33You snakes, you brood of vipers! How can you escape being sentenced to hell?* 34Therefore I send you prophets, sages, and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town, 35so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36Truly I tell you, all this will come upon this generation.
