1 O God, make speed to save me; ♦︎
O Lord, make haste to help me.
2 Let those who seek my life
be put to shame and confusion; ♦︎
let them be turned back and disgraced
who wish me evil.
3 Let those who mock and deride me ♦︎
turn back because of their shame.
4 But let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; ♦︎
let those who love your salvation say always, Great is the Lord!
5 As for me, I am poor and needy; ♦︎
come to me quickly, O God.
6 You are my help and my deliverer; ♦︎
O Lord, do not delay.

6 I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities,
and lack of bread in all your places,
yet you did not return to me,
says the Lord.
7 And I also withheld the rain from you
when there were still three months to the harvest;
I would send rain on one city,
and send no rain on another city;
one field would be rained upon,
and the field on which it did not rain withered;
8 so two or three towns wandered to one town
to drink water, and were not satisfied;
yet you did not return to me,
says the Lord.
9 I struck you with blight and mildew;
I laid waste* your gardens and your vineyards;
the locust devoured your fig trees and your olive trees;
yet you did not return to me,
says the Lord.
10 I sent among you a pestilence after the manner of Egypt;
I killed your young men with the sword;
I carried away your horses;*
and I made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils;
yet you did not return to me,
says the Lord.
11 I overthrew some of you,
as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
and you were like a brand snatched from the fire;
yet you did not return to me,
says the Lord.
12 Therefore, thus I will do to you, O Israel;
because I will do this to you,
prepare to meet your God, O Israel!
13 For lo, the one who forms the mountains, creates the wind,
reveals his thoughts to mortals,
makes the morning darkness,
and treads on the heights of the earth
the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!

24As Jesus came out of the temple and was going away, his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. 2Then he asked them, You see all these, do you not? Truly I tell you, not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down.
3 When he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? 4Jesus answered them, Beware that no one leads you astray. 5For many will come in my name, saying, I am the Messiah!* and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines* and earthquakes in various places: 8all this is but the beginning of the birth pangs.
9 Then they will hand you over to be tortured and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name. 10Then many will fall away,* and they will betray one another and hate one another. 11And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12And because of the increase of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. 13But anyone who endures to the end will be saved. 14And this good news* of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end will come.
