⁴⁶It shall be eaten in one house; you shall not take any of the animal outside the house, and you shall not break any of its bones.

¹²They shall leave none of it until morning, nor break a bone of it; according to all the statute for the passover they shall keep it.

²⁰ He keeps all their bones;
   not one of them will be broken.

The Coming Ruler of God’s People

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter Zion!
   Shout aloud, O daughter Jerusalem!
Lo, your king comes to you;
   triumphant and victorious is he,
humble and riding on a donkey,
   on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

¹⁶For I am now raising up in the land a shepherd who does not care for the perishing, or seek the wandering,^* or heal the maimed, or nourish the healthy,^* but devours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.

The Shepherd Struck, the Flock Scattered

⁷ ‘Awake, O sword, against my shepherd,
   against the man who is my associate,’

says the Lord of hosts.
Strike the shepherd, that the sheep may be scattered;
   I will turn my hand against the little ones.
⁸ In the whole land, says the Lord,
   two-thirds shall be cut off and perish,
   and one-third shall be left alive.
