81 My soul is pining for your salvation; ♦︎
I have hoped in your word.
82 My eyes fail with watching for your word, ♦︎
while I say, O when will you comfort me?
83 I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, ♦︎
yet I do not forget your statutes.
84 How many are the days of your servant? ♦︎
When will you bring judgement on those who persecute me?
85 The proud have dug pits for me ♦︎
in defiance of your law.
86 All your commandments are true; ♦︎
help me, for they persecute me with falsehood.
87 They had almost made an end of me on earth, ♦︎
but I have not forsaken your commandments.
88 Give me life according to your loving-kindness; ♦︎
so shall I keep the testimonies of your mouth.
89 O Lord, your word is everlasting; ♦︎
it ever stands firm in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness also remains from one generation to another; ♦︎
you have established the earth and it abides.
91 So also your judgements stand firm this day, ♦︎
for all things are your servants.
92 If your law had not been my delight, ♦︎
I should have perished in my trouble.
93 I will never forget your commandments, ♦︎
for by them you have given me life.
94 I am yours, O save me! ♦︎
For I have sought your commandments.
95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me, ♦︎
but I will meditate on your testimonies.
96 I have seen an end of all perfection, ♦︎
but your commandment knows no bounds.
97 Lord, how I love your law! ♦︎
All the day long it is my study.
98 Your commandments have made me wiser than my enemies, ♦︎
for they are ever with me.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, ♦︎
for your testimonies are my meditation.
100 I am wiser than the aged, ♦︎
because I keep your commandments.
101 I restrain my feet from every evil way, ♦︎
that I may keep your word.
102 I have not turned aside from your judgements, ♦︎
for you have been my teacher.
103 How sweet are your words on my tongue! ♦︎
They are sweeter than honey to my mouth.
104 Through your commandments I get understanding; ♦︎
therefore I hate all lying ways.

43When Jeremiah finished speaking to all the people all these words of the Lord their God, with which the Lord their God had sent him to them, 2Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the other insolent men said to Jeremiah, You are telling a lie. The Lord our God did not send you to say, Do not go to Egypt to settle there; 3but Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us, to hand us over to the Chaldeans, in order that they may kill us or take us into exile in Babylon. 4So Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces and all the people did not obey the voice of the Lord, to stay in the land of Judah. 5But Johanan son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces took all the remnant of Judah who had returned to settle in the land of Judah from all the nations to which they had been driven 6the men, the women, the children, the princesses, and everyone whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan; also the prophet Jeremiah and Baruch son of Neriah. 7And they came into the land of Egypt, for they did not obey the voice of the Lord. And they arrived at Tahpanhes.
8 Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes:
9Take some large stones in your hands, and bury them in the clay pavement* that is at the entrance to Pharaohs palace in Tahpanhes. Let the Judeans see you do it,
10and say to them, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I am going to send and take my servant King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon, and he* will set his throne above these stones that I have buried, and he will spread his royal canopy over them.
11He shall come and ravage the land of Egypt, giving
those who are destined for pestilence, to pestilence,
and those who are destined for captivity, to captivity,
and those who are destined for the sword, to the sword.
12He* shall kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them and carry them away captive; and he shall pick clean the land of Egypt, as a shepherd picks his cloak clean of vermin; and he shall depart from there safely.
13He shall break the obelisks of Heliopolis, which is in the land of Egypt; and the temples of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.

19and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
Then he went home; 20and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat. 21When his family heard it, they went out to restrain him, for people were saying, He has gone out of his mind. 22And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebul, and by the ruler of the demons he casts out demons. 23And he called them to him, and spoke to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but his end has come. 27But no one can enter a strong mans house and plunder his property without first tying up the strong man; then indeed the house can be plundered.
28 Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven for their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin 30for they had said, He has an unclean spirit.
31 Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him.
32A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, Your mother and your brothers and sisters* are outside, asking for you.
33And he replied, Who are my mother and my brothers?
34And looking at those who sat around him, he said, Here are my mother and my brothers!
35Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.
