Psalm 128

¹Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.
²For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
³Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
⁴Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.
⁵The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
⁶Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.

Psalm 129

¹Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:
²Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
³The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
⁴The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
⁵Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
⁶Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
⁷Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
⁸Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord.

12And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
²And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.
³(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
⁴And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
⁵And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
⁶And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
⁷My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
⁸With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
⁹And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed.
¹⁰And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
¹¹And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
¹²Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother’s womb.
¹³And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
¹⁴And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
¹⁵And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
¹⁶And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

¹⁸For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
¹⁹And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
²⁰(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:
²¹And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)
²²But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
²³To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
²⁴And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
²⁵See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
²⁶Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
²⁷And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
²⁸Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
²⁹For our God is a consuming fire.
