Proverbs 3:27-34

27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,*
   when it is in your power to do it.
28 Do not say to your neighbour, ‘Go, and come again;
   tomorrow I will give it’—when you have it with you.
29 Do not plan harm against your neighbour
   who lives trustingly beside you.
30 Do not quarrel with anyone without cause,
   when no harm has been done to you.
31 Do not envy the violent
   and do not choose any of their ways;
32 for the perverse are an abomination to the Lord,
   but the upright are in his confidence.
33 The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked,
   but he blesses the abode of the righteous.
34 Towards the scorners he is scornful,
   but to the humble he shows favour.

2 Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
   and speak the truth from their heart;
3 who do not slander with their tongue,
   and do no evil to their friends,
   nor take up a reproach against their neighbours;
3 who do not slander with their tongue,
   and do no evil to their friends,
   nor take up a reproach against their neighbours;
4 in whose eyes the wicked are despised,
   but who honour those who fear the Lord;
who stand by their oath even to their hurt;
5 who do not lend money at interest,
   and do not take a bribe against the innocent.

Those who do these things shall never be moved.

Luke 8:16-18

A Lamp under a Jar

16 ‘No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light. 18Then pay attention to how you listen; for to those who have, more will be given; and from those who do not have, even what they seem to have will be taken away.’
