1Why, O Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
<< | >> |
1How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all day long? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3Consider and answer me, O Lord my God! Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,
4and my enemy will say, I have prevailed; my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.
5But I trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

1Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.
2I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me.
3I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God.
<< | >> |
8O Lord God of hosts, who is as mighty as you, O Lord? Your faithfulness surrounds you.
9You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.

1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
3though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. Selah
10Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth.
11The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
