18 It was the Lord who made it known to me, and I knew;
then you showed me their evil deeds.
19 But I was like a gentle lamb
led to the slaughter.
And I did not know it was against me
that they devised schemes, saying,
Let us destroy the tree with its fruit,
let us cut him off from the land of the living,
so that his name will no longer be remembered!
20 But you, O Lord of hosts, who judge righteously,

1 O Lord my God, in you I take refuge;
save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me,
2 or like a lion they will tear me apart;

50Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus* before, and who was one of them, asked,
51Our law does not judge people without first giving them a hearing to find out what they are doing, does it?
52They replied, Surely you are not also from Galilee, are you? Search and you will see that no prophet is to arise from Galilee.
[[53Then each of them went home,
