43Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:
²And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
³And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
⁴And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
⁵So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house.
⁶And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me.
⁷And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.

Psalm 115

¹Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
²Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
³But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
⁴Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
⁵They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
⁶They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
⁷They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
⁸They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
⁹O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
¹⁰O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
¹¹Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
¹²The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
¹³He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
¹⁴The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
¹⁵Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
¹⁶The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
¹⁷The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
¹⁸But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

¹³And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
¹⁴But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
¹⁵But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
¹⁶Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
¹⁷For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
¹⁸For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
¹⁹By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
²⁰Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
²¹The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
²²Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

¹⁵If ye love me, keep my commandments.
¹⁶And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
¹⁷Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
¹⁸I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
¹⁹Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
²⁰At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
²¹He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
